New Research Doubles PC Speeds (SHMT)

A recent research paper posted on line and linked below demonstrates how to double pc speeds without hardware upgrades. This is known as SHMT or Simultaneous and Heterogenous Multithreading. Instead of sending tasks to the multiple processors in a pc (GPU, CPU, and TPU) which causes latency, SHMT instead allows a single task can be carried out across multiple processes simultaneously, reducing the workload per processor and increasing the efficiency of the task. This cost less energy which in turn I surmise will also reduce the heat created which I hope will allow for more headroom within a system. Follow the link to the research paper below.
